Welcome to Lani's Lens on Life

Writing has been my lifelong passion—a love affair that began back in middle school. For years, though, I kept it all to myself, a secret world of words that I didn’t share with anyone. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school that I finally took the leap and joined a writing group.

Over time, I dabbled here and there, experimenting with my craft, but it wasn’t until my late twenties that I found my true voice in playwriting. Life’s everyday challenges became my inspiration, and I started crafting plays centered on relationships—messy, beautiful, and real. I want my work to spark thought, to make people laugh, and perhaps even shed a tear. My sweet spot is dramedy, where I aim for every story to end with reconciliation, love, and hope.

Recently, I’ve been exploring a new chapter in my journey, venturing into the world of screenwriting. It’s an exciting challenge to breathe new life into my stories in a different format—one that holds endless possibilities.
